  • 1.  CALL: Publishing Opportunity in a Special Edition of Information Technology and Libraries Journal (ITAL)

    Posted Sep 18, 2023 12:10 PM

    Hello all,

Information Technology and Libraries Journal (ITAL) is seeking authors for a peer-reviewed special edition focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Submissions should focus on AI and ML and their use in or around libraries, museums, and archives. For example, submissions could focus on how these technologies are being introduced or used by library stakeholders, critiques of methods and programs, and possible future use cases. While a given submission may focus on a particular tool (e.g. ChatGPT) or technology (e.g. machine translation), the journal is interested in publishing an issue that provides insight into a breadth of topics and applications in the AI and ML landscape.

This special edition will be published in mid-2024 and is being guest edited by Joy DuBose and Peter Musser, co-chairs of the ALA AI and Machine Learning Interest Group.

Interested authors may submit an abstract for initial consideration to the editorial team no later than Monday, October 16, 2023.

Once submitted abstracts have been reviewed, all authors will be contacted by email and informed whether they have been chosen to submit manuscripts, with complete manuscripts due by December 15th to begin peer review. Authors interested in contributing ideas or articles for this edition may contact the guest editors:

Joy DuBose at jdubose@library.msstate.edu or Peter Musser peter@iskme.org.

    Thank you,

Joy DuBose, Associate Professor, Mississippi State University

Peter Musser, Head of Library Services, ISKME
