The Core Promoting Preservation Interest Group seeks a volunteer to serve as chair for one year (2022-2023).

The group's charge is to advocate  for preservation of cultural heritage materials among librarians and non-librarians by offering educational opportunities and supporting outreach efforts both inside and outside of institutional library contexts. And to promote understanding of preservation principles and objectives, development of preservation skill sets, and cultivation of potential preservation funding sources.

Chair responsibilities include facilitating discussion on ALA Connect, as well as optional activities such as programming during Core virtual Interest Group Week or hosting a discussion during ALA Annual. Additional information is available in the Core Handbook

If interested, please contact the current chair, Shelby Strommer (strommer@illinois.edu).

    Thanks!
    Shelby
