Purpose: Provides a forum for discussion of issues related to Linked Library Data and the role of library metadata in the Semantic web. Goals include: raising awareness of Semantic Web technologies, such as the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and the use of URIs as identifiers within bibliographic descriptions; promoting research on linked data challenges, such as domain modeling and vocabulary selection and design; and informing the ongoing development of existing metadata standards for Libraries, Archives and Cultural Heritage Institutions.

    Please find below a call for proposals concerning Artificial Intelligence and Information Integrity  . We hope for your propositions and for your participation!

    The Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliotecológicas y de la Información (IIBI) and the Advisory Committee on Freedom of Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (FAIFE), together with the Artificial Intelligence Special Interest Group are pleased to announce the International Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and Information Integrity under the theme:

    Building Trust: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Information Integrity.

    The hybrid seminar will take place on August 8, 2024, as part of the Mexican Information Global Forum MEXINFO in Mexico City from August 5–9, 2024.

    The conference welcomes proposals for presentations on topics related to AI and Information Integrity:

    • AI-powered tools for detecting misinformation and disinformation campaigns,
    • Algorithmic bias and its impact on information fairness and trust,
    • Addressing the risks of deep fakes and synthetic media,
    • The role of librarians as curators,
    • Information integrity and the Sustainable Development Goals,
    • The impact of AI on scientific research integrity and reproducibility • Societal and policy implications of AI in the information ecosystem • Promoting critical information literacy to counter AI misinformation and disinformation

    Submissions should focus on practical solutions, case studies, and research findings.
