    The International Journal of Librarianship (IJoL) is inviting submissions for a special issue titled "Collection Assessment in Libraries" to be published in December 2024.

    IJoL (ISSN 2474-3542) is a double-anonymous peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on sharing and disseminating new ideas and developments in the field of library and information science around the world. The journal is published quarterly, and it is a diamond open access journal, indexed and available in full text in both the EBSCO and ProQuest databases. It is registered with the Library of Congress and Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ). All articles published in IJoL are permanently preserved by the Library of Congress and LOCKSS/PKP PLN system. The journal welcomes original research papers, field reports, reviews, commentaries or news as specified on the journal's website under Section Policies: https://journal.calaijol.org/index.php/ijol/about

    This special issue aims to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to present their research and share experiences on this important and timely topic of collection assessment. Areas of interest for this special issue include any topics related to or connected to or fell under the umbrella of collection assessment across library disciplines including but not limited to the following:

    • Collections analysis projects 
    • Assessment tools, methods, and projects 
    • Public library and/or small academic library perspectives in acquisitions and collection development
    • New models for selection
    • Consortia collection development
    • Effective management of collections with constrained resources
    • Vendor and publisher evaluation
    • Diversity, inclusion and social justice in acquisitions and collections
    • Using data visualization techniques to tell our stories (e.g., budget, collections, etc.)
    • Impacts of Open Access and Open Repositories on acquisitions and collection development
