    III International Symposium on
    Qualitative Methods

    In Librarianship and Information Studies
    20th to 22nd of June 2023
    Online Event

    Summary

The path taken to determine the use of qualitative methodology in librarianship and information disciplines has allowed us to establish the phenomena and fields which are studied in a qualitative way, as well as the methods, and the techniques used. The relevance of qualitative research in our areas has been discussed, and interest in this modality has gradually increased. It is now time to take a step further and explore the future landscape. We must identify the trends that have consolidated, the transformations of data collection methods and their treatment, given that social spaces have changed rapidly; for example, we now refer to multiple realities. It is also worth reviewing the epistemic frameworks, interpretive paradigms, and delving into the ethics of qualitative research in a world shaken by technologies that allow access to almost infinite amounts of information and data and connecting with real or virtual people.
