The ALA Core MARC Formats Transition Interest Group will host an online community meeting on December 4, Wednesday, from 2 to 3pm eastern time (1-2pm central time).

We are excited to welcome two experts and experienced librarians in linked data implementation in library systems to share their experiences:

    • TJ Kao, Head of Metadata Creation at the University of California, Davis, will give an update on the status of the library's BIBFRAME implementation, followed by a brief demonstration of Sinopia/Alma integration.
    • Margarita Perez Martinez, Cataloging, Metadata, and IR Librarian at the University of Miami School of Law Library, will share valuable insights from attending the 2024 BIBFRAME Workshop in Europe.

Following the presentations, we'll open the floor for community discussion. Potential discussion topics include:

    • What is the current status of your institution's or consortium's work with BIBFRAME?
    • What challenges and successes have you encountered so far?
    • What are your next steps, and what recommendations do you have for the community?
