About this Group

Purpose: Discusses the various collection development and collection management issues of concern to large research libraries, especially issues affecting diverse collections that support a broad spectrum of instructional, research, and cultural programs. Provide sa forum for the exchange of information on new developments, techniques, challenges, and opportunities in managing library collections, as well as seeking opportunities for collaboration and cooperation to increase the effectiveness and efficiencies of support for our institutions.

    Dear Colleagues:

    Chief Collection Development Officers of Large Research Libraries Interest Group (CCDO) will meet on 6/21 (Tue) 2-3:30pm ET/1-2:30pm CT/Noon-1:30pm MT /11am-12:30-pm PT via zoom to discuss books strategies. Please register to obtain the zoom link. This will be a public event. Please feel free to invite non-members. We will ask ALA for recording help. Here's the agenda: 

    • Welcome & Officer Introduction (5 min.) – For FY22/23 Incoming Chair, Dracine Hodges (Duke) has been nominated and agreed to serve in this role. There were no other nominations by the deadline.
    • Presentations (total 45-60 min, about 15 min. each):
