There is a lot of work going on in the Preservation Outreach Committee, and we wanted to share some announcements about our upcoming annual events.

 

Preservation in Action

Join us for an engaging opportunity to help preserve cultural heritage in Chicago and gain practical experience! Preservation in Action is a day-long preservation project on the Friday of ALA Annual (June 26, 2026). This year we will be partnering with the Bronzeville Historical Society and the Chinese American Museum of Chicago.

Preservation Week

We are excited to announce this year's theme for Preservation Week, Is this Thing On? Preserving Memory and Building Archives, and our 2026 Honorary Chair, Tamar Evangelestia-Dougherty.
