Hi Karl,
Thanks for the information. As the MAC liaison, I don't have any concerns with this scheduling adjustment. We were informed yesterday that the MAC midwinter meetings are being pushed back to mid-February:
Due to delays caused by the recent US government shutdown, we will have to push back the MAC Midwinter dates from January to February 2026.
After consultation with the MAC Chair and the MARC Steering Group, we have scheduled the Midwinter meetings to take place on:
February 18-19, 2026, 10:30am – 1:30pm Eastern Standard Time (EST)
We expect to post the MAC papers and agenda by mid-January. Pre-meeting comments deadline is tentatively set for February 11th.
This timing should allow for initial review and discussion at our meetings.
Best regards,
Amanda

Subject: ALA Annual Meeting Time Slots
Hi all,
This is a question for CC:DA voting members and liaisons. I talked with Tom Ferren at Core yesterday because there are some issues with having our meetings at annual during the same time slots. Normally we would have our first meeting on Saturday morning and our second on Monday afternoon. However, because this is the 150th anniversary year for ALA there will be some extra programming related to that going on. In order not to conflict with that programing on Saturday we needed to move our first meeting time to Sunday afternoon. So now our times would be Sunday (1-4) and Monday (9-12). This means that our meetings will be "back-to-back" with the two consecutive days. This seemed like a good compromise given the Core schedule but I want to make sure that our members and liaisons don't see any conflicts in this move. Please let me know if you know of any as soon as possible so I can work with Tom. He will be looking at other events as well to try and catch any potential conflicts.
Thanks,
Karl
