    Core webinar: Re-Engaging Patrons and Community Post-Pandemic

    Date: Tuesday, April 12, 2022

    All webinars are one hour in length and begin at 11 am Pacific, noon Mountain, 1 pm Central, and 2 pm Eastern time.

    This is the final session in a three-part series regarding Access and Equity

    Description: Engaging patrons and creating community awareness has always been challenging for libraries. That has deepened during the pandemic, and it is naïve to think that as the pandemic subsides library usage and attendance will return to normal without major efforts to encourage a return to the library. This session will explore how libraries can re-engage their communities and residents and provide interactive exercises to determine what actions will be needed to make libraries a key part of their residents lives again. The program will include an emphasis on assessing and building capacity for marketing and engagement activities.

    Learning outcomes:

    By the end of the webinar, attendees will be able to:

    1. Assess their organizational capacity for engagement and marketing activities;
    2. Determine what marketing and planning tactics and tools are available to reach their patrons more efficiently and effectively; and
    3. Identify key actions and activities to reengage and communicate with their entire community post-pandemic.

    Who should attend?

    Anyone with an interest in the topic can benefit from this session and is welcome to participate.

    Presenters:

Her responsibilities at Demco included developing marketing strategy for library design services, creating quality content to educate librarians, and engaging with industry partners and library leaders/staff to better understand and create dialog around the needs of libraries. Her focus has always been directed toward helping librarians better serve their communities. Specific areas of expertise include strategic planning, marketing strategy, research and development and space planning.

    Rob Cullin, Managing Principal of ReThinking Libraries, has been serving libraries with unique solutions for over 19 years. Initially, he co-founded Evanced Solutions, LLC (later acquired by Demco, Inc.) providing him with exposure to thousands of libraries across the USA, Canada, and Australia. In 2004, he helped launch the library consulting firm, Kimberly Bolan & Associates, and has been involved in hundreds of KBA’s strategic planning and facility planning projects. This experience led to launching the ReThinking Libraries consulting firm in 2020. With a broad set of experiences reaching beyond libraries, Rob has direct specialties in strategic planning, community engagement, complex data and demographic analysis, marketing, service and organizational design.
