Hello TSMALIG! Hope everyone is staying cool this summer.
It's time for a call for suggestions for discussion topics for our next meeting on July 28 at 10 CT during Core's Interest Group Week.
As our past chair Lauren has described it, determining our discussion topics and running our meetings is a very low-maintenance, democratic, member-driven process. Below is a link to a Google spreadsheet where you can suggest discussion topics about and/or volunteer to lead a conversation:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ACc8rBhj-SXV9mwPwtq1euSHO6qPutQCPcliCHPNLMo/edit?usp=sharing
You will find three sheets in the document:
- On the first sheet, please propose any and all subjects you're interested in discussing. All suggestions are welcome!
- On the second sheet, please sign up if you're willing to facilitate one of the discussions. If you can help out with this, thank you! All it means is preparing a few questions to prompt discussion and then using them to gently guide the conversation.
- On the third sheet, you'll find topics from our past meetings for reference. Suggestions for topics that build on discussions from past meetings and for totally new topics are both encouraged!
We typically have four to six discussions at each meeting. We'll see how many suggestions and how many volunteers we get this time around. I'll reach out to the volunteers a week or two before the meeting and then announce the final topics here after that.
Thank you and let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to it!
