Heather Dalal holds an MLIS from Rutgers University (2002) and a MEd in Instructional Design from University of Massachusetts, Boston (2011). She is an Associate Professor-Librarian at Rider University (Lawrenceville, NJ) where she is tasked with instruction and reaching distance learners using emerging technologies.
Her ALA home has been the Distance Learning Section, now the Distance and Online Learning Section. She's served on number DLS committees including Standards, Instruction, and Strategic Planning (as co-chair). Currently in 2020-21, she is the DOLS Secretary and a member of the Research & Publications Committee.
Heather is also active in the ACRL-NJ Chapter/NJLA College & University Section, where she is currently co-chair of the Research Committee. In the past, she's been chair of the User Education Committee, and served as Vice President, President, and President-Elect.
Heather currently holds a position on the ACRL Standards Committee and has served on past ACRL Conference Committees: Panels, and Virtual Conference (as co-chair).
Heather finds service to the profession to be engaging and energizing.
