Hi all.  I know this inquiry might be a bit early....but is anyone doing any work on this topic: ChatGPT or other AI tools for evidence based reviews ?  OR, do you have any thoughts about "what is happening now" re: this topic ?? I am "trying to keep up"....

    Hi Paul,

I am a Ph.D. student in algorithmic literacy. I have been exploring the AI tool, called Elicit: https://elicit.org/  They call it an "AI research assistant". It allows to perform many things, but one of them is a literature review matrix, which I think can be helpful for evidence synthesis.

I am looking forward to what others might say too!

Hi Marta !  Thank you for your comments !  I too am hoping to hear other thoughts .....

Quite a while back I said that I was going to "kick the tires" on Elicit.  But have not had the chance.  I am hoping to get back to that activity  ....

But today I did another search using Elicit and under "Add information about all papers" I chose a number of things including "intervention" and "main findings" and I then exported the results to CSV.  Is that what you meant by "matrix"  ?  I was thinking that the results for "intervention" and "main findings" (using Elicit) would be interesting to look at after seeing full text of those papers for myself.  Not sure how soon I will get to that though....

Again, though, thanks for comments !

    Hi Paul,

I have been talking closely with our Data Librarian about tools like ChatGPT. She shared a highly relevant article(NY Times) and an open letter that is being signed by many in higher education (FutureOfLife.org).

"Elon Musk and Others Call for Pause on A.I., Citing 'Profound Risks to Society'"

"Pause Giant AI Experiments: An Open Letter"

    Food for thought :)
