Here's the follow-up I promised to send after our meeting today.

    1.  List of ACRL forthcoming titles for community college libraries

According to Erin Nevius, ACRL's Content Strategist, these titles aren't scheduled to start publishing until 2021 and we don't have any of the manuscripts in-hand yet. If CJCLS wants to do something sooner, Erin would be happy to put CJCLS in touch with the authors/editors, and we could always re-offer the webcast when the book publishes.

      • Community College Librarian Job Descriptions: Accurate, Effective Job Descriptions
      • Community College Library Instruction: Adapting the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy
      • The Community College Library: Instruction and Reference
      • The Community College Library: Assessment
      • The Community College Library: Collections and Technical Services
      • The Community College Library: Outreach, Partnerships, and Collaboration
      • The Community College Library: Administration and Leadership
    2. The ACRLog has a team of 8 bloggers, only one of which is a community college librarian: "Emily Hampton Haynes is a Public Services Librarian at Carroll Community College of Maryland. Previously she served as Reference and Education Services librarian at Hood College. Her research interests include information literacy, pedagogy, outreach, and mindfulness in higher education."  Emily is not a member of CJCLS, so perhaps CJCLS might consider recruiting an additional blogger.  CJCLS might also consider adding links to the community-college-related posts on your web site.  Emily just posted on Oct. 9 about the new report, "Student Needs are Academic Needs."
    3. ACRL Update is an e-mail notification service designed to keep you informed about ACRL initiatives, professional development opportunities, publications, and other items of interest in the academic and higher education community. To receive ACRL Update, visit the subscription page.

    4. ACRL Academic Library Trends and Statistics Survey promotion: I've attached the invitation letter that was sent to all library directors in late September. You are welcome to use this as the basis for an additional call for participation.  Complete information is available at http://acrl.libguides.com/stats/surveyhelp. CJCLS might consider writing an annual article for C&RL News about the survey findings for community colleges.  We publish summary data by Carnegie classification, so it would be interesting to have a report done. Alternatively, CJCLS might consider asking the community college representative on the ACRL Academic Library Trends and Statistics Survey Editorial Board to write such an article.  Attached is the press release I did the 2018 edition.
    5.  ACRL Get Involved: Everything You Need to Know About Volunteering for an ACRL Committee - Tuesday, December 10, 2019 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Central - please promote! The registration is open now for the free webcast.  We will promoting via ACRL Update, ACRL Insider, and Facebook.
    6.  Free ACRL Webcast – Tips for ACRL 2019 Proposal Submissions (2/1) : there were many questions about the rubrics used by ACRL Conference committee juries that I think are answered in this webcast.  If not, please feel free to contact Beth McNeil, ACRL 2021 Conference Chair at (765) 494-2902.  (She hasn't updated her email address in the membership database.)
