The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Hi folks!

We ran out of time during today's Action Council meeting, but we wanted to be sure to make space for folks to discuss some of the things we missed.

One of those overarching topics was SRRT's presence at ALA's upcoming Annual Conference.

Please use this Connect thread to discuss any of the following subtopics, and/or something related you'd like to raise. Bolded questions in particular warrant some targeted feedback, so please take a look!

    Hi Everyone,

I agreed to fill in for Olivia and Rachel to give a presentation and welcome potential members for the General SRRT membership/welcome portion of the meeting on Saturday, June 27, 2026. After the general SRRT membership/welcome meeting, we will present the Biblo Award, and then go into the All Task Force meeting.

    Refreshments will be provided.

I am also filling in to host the Monday, June 29 10:30am-12:00pm "Chair's program: Promoting Health Equity & Medical Diversity, a Film Screening and Discussion of 'the Calling.'"

We hope you can attend both sessions and support your round table.

    Cheers!
