The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Hello,

    Our next Action Council meeting is coming up next Wednesday, November 26 at 2:00 PM Atlantic / 1:00 PM Eastern / 12:00 PM Central / 11:00 AM Mountain / 10:00 AM Pacific. We hope you can join us!

    If you have any agenda items you'd like to be included, please send them to the co-coordinators ASAP, no later than Friday, November 21 by 12 PM Central. Note: As is often the case, given the already-robust list of items for action and discussion, we may have limited time for less time-sensitive items. As we have routinely, we will receive updates from all task forces, committees, and liaisons. 

    The TENTATIVE DRAFT agenda for Wednesday's Action Council meeting is linked here.  (Agenda is subject to change prior to the meeting, and will be finalized pending a vote at the beginning of the meeting.) 

    This meeting will be recorded, per members' request. Access to the recording will be available by request only (email the co-coordinators for the link & password). The recording will be deleted after 1 month. These steps are being taken to balance access with privacy due to the potentially sensitive nature of discussions.

    Who: All SRRT members are welcome to attend. Only Action Council members may vote, per SRRT rules.
