The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    It's that time of year! Libraries, classrooms, book groups, and children's lit fans are gearing up to dive into mock election programs to discuss books and choose the best of the best. The Association for Library Service to Children collects winning titles from Mock programs around the globe on its blog. 

    New for 2024: The mock elections page will feature results for EVERY book award given at the YMAs: American Indian Youth Literature, Asian Pacific/American Award for Literature, Batchelder, Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Geisel, Newbery, Printz, Pura Belpré, Schneider, Sibert, Stonewall, AND Sydney Taylor.
