The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Happy Monday everyone!

As many of you know, November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month while November 12-20, 2022 is Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. To help bring awareness to these issues, both as a social justice issue and in connection to libraries, SRRT is hosting our first ever Homelessness Summit on November 14th.

You can read more about the sessions we have planned at https://www.ala.org/rt/srrt/2022homelessness_summit.

We are finalizing just a couple more details and then will have registration live. I'll send out another email once it's live.
