The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

Reminder-- Tell Us How Core Can Help You: Take the Library Career Pathways Survey

    Hi everyone,

There's still a chance to share your thoughts.

As part of a 2024 Emerging Leaders Project, our team invites your participation in a brief survey!

Core supports the advancement of library workers and information providers in central "behind the scenes" roles that keep libraries going strong. Core provides a place for us to connect, learn, and explore various career pathways through our six sections.

Your input will directly contribute to developing recommendations aimed at assisting students and new professionals with creating career pathways of their interest(s). The survey results will help us determine the areas of strengths, improvement, and future goals for fostering the successful career development of all library workers in various information settings. These recommendations will be presented at the 2024 ALA Annual Conference in San Diego this June and will be available on the Core website, providing valuable guidance on career pathways and necessary skills across Core sections. All responses will remain anonymous and will be solely utilized for the 2024 Core Emerging Leaders project. Completion of the survey is anticipated to take approximately 5-7 minutes. The deadline to complete the survey is Thursday, April 18. Your input is greatly appreciated.  Thank you all so much!

Here is the link to the survey.
