SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    A reminder that the 2026 Virtual ALA Membership Meeting is coming up next week -- Wednesday, June 17 at 3:30pm Central Time. Please remember to register for this session via Zoom by Sunday, June 14 to ensure you receive your voting credentials for the meeting. 

    You can submit questions for ALA leadership in advance by filling out this form (deadline is Monday, June 15).  Additional information, such as the agenda, voting procedures, and steps on submitting resolutions, are found on the Membership Meeting page.
