SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

Here is what happened this afternoon at the ALA Council meeting when they ran out of time. As the published ending time approached, the ALA President-Elect who was chairing the meeting, asked the body if there were any objections to extending the meeting by 15 minutes. There were no objections. As the meeting proceeded it became clear that the extra 15 minutes were not sufficient to finish the agenda. The chair then asked the body if there were any objections to extending the meeting another 15 minutes. This time there were objections. The body then decided to adjourn and reconvene soon to finish the rest of the items on the agenda.
