SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

  • 1.  Nov. 4 Action Council Meeting: Call for Agenda Items

    Hi all,

    Hope your week is off to a good start!

    Since we last met on the 2nd Wednesday of October, our next meeting will be Mon. November 4th, which is the 1st Monday of the month. The meeting will take place at 2:00 PM Atlantic / 1:00 PM Eastern / 12:00 PM Central / 11:00 AM Mountain / 10:00 AM Pacific. (Full schedule is below, as well as on the SRRT website's Action Council page.)

    Please send me any agenda items you'd like to discuss at the next meeting by end of day Thurs. October 31st. I will send out the meeting agenda and Zoom link soon thereafter, prior to the meeting.

    Remember, any SRRT member is invited and encouraged to attend SRRT Action Council meetings! Only Action Council members may vote, but generally discussion is open to all attendees, and we value your participation. SRRT always welcomes new member voices, and as one of ALA's largest round tables, there are lots of great ways to get involved here!

    If you have any questions, or again, any agenda items to add, please don't hesitate to reach out.
