SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

last person joined: yesterday

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

I heard that Ginny died this last weekend. Does anyone have more information. I would like to post about her on the FTF Facebook page as part of Women of Library History so any postings about her and her contributions to libraries would be helpful.

    Hi, Diedre,

LaJuan Pringle and Eboni Henry are working on a memorial resolution. In the meantime LaJuan shared this link to the Who's Who entry :

I'm not sure of anything else. LaJuan may be able to help.

I am so sorry to hear that. Ginny Moore was a Council stalwart, a warm and altogether wonderful  person , and someone whom ALA should honor in any way possible.  May her memory be a blessing.  Michael
