SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Just a FYI -

As you know, ALA migrated to the new website on May 1st. Unfortunately, it was not a smooth transition for our web pages and, given how much larger our microsite is compared to other round tables, I'm not really surprised. Several of our pages have visible CSS, broken links, and wonky layouts. Some of our pages were captured much further back than we anticipated and are out of date. The biggest issue, though, is that ALL of our files have moved and need to be relinked. This includes our newsletters, resolutions, and minutes. Don't worry, they still exist -- just not where we left them.

During the next month, maybe two, we will get everything back in order. I ask for your patience and understanding as we work through the hundreds of files and pages.

In the meantime, if you are looking for content and cannot find it, please email me at banhatenotbooks@gmail.com or Olivia Blake at orhysb@gmail.com and we'll find the direct link for you.

This is appalling. And ALA is supposed to support information for the people.

This has happened with every web page migration I've ever been a part of. We got one coming soon on my campus and I'm sure it'll be way worse. At least our stuff is there, we just got to remind files and update the newer pages.

    Hi All,

The ALA Website Team is working to correct issues as they arise and have been made aware of the SRRT issues encountered.  Please know that this work does not fall solely on SRRT's shoulders, and we have a dedicated IT Team that is addressing things as quickly as possible. I encourage everyone to report any issues directly to our IT team through the Feedback Form found on the site: ALA Website Feedback Form | ALA as encountered. Appreciate your grace and patience as we work to reconnect everything!
