SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    SRRT Action Council has drafted and approved the attached resolution, Resolution Calling for an Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza. We will be sharing this resolution with the Round Table Coordinating Assembling later this week.

    Hello SRRT Members,,

    We are starting a campaign to send the resolution to as many ALA bodies as we can, ask them to discuss, and perhaps endorse our resolution. I have volunteered to keep track of who has sent it to the various groups. So if you are an active member of one or more ALA bodies, or even an inactive member, we would appreciate it you would forward the resolution now, and let me know the result.
