SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    SRRT Action Council will meet September 18th at 10am Central. SRRT meetings are open to all SRRT members.


    And here is the draft agenda:
    • Welcome and Intros - All

    • Changes in SRRT Leadership & Action Council - April Sheppard & Charles Kratz
      • Approval of new Co-Coordinators
      • Approval of new Coordinator-Elect
      • Filling Vacant Action Council At-Large Line

    • Discussion of Feedback Regarding Action Council Meetings - April Sheppard

    • Proposed: SRRT Community Commitment (Attached) - April Sheppard & Charles Kratz

    • Tentative: Overhead Agreement Implementation Task Force Update - Charles Kratz
