The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    All –

In case you didn't see it, ALL members must register by June 17 in order to vote at the June 24th Membership Meeting – whether you attend via Zoom or in person.

Here's the link to register to vote: https://ala-events.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_kActkwtZRDqKCi6V_0PBnQ#/registration

SRRT Action Council does have concerns about the equity of making everyone sign up, not accepting in-person votes of those who didn't register, and the requirement of everyone having to vote in-person via smart devices using wi-fi or data. We are formulating our next steps, but I wanted you all to know that we are aware of these issues.
