The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

The Membership Meeting is a unique opportunity for ALA members to engage in discussions on important issues that affect libraries and librarianship. This is your chance to bring issues that matter to the floor and discuss how they might be addressed within ALA by introducing Resolutions, Memorials and Tributes. You can find guidelines on how to submit a resolution, memorial, or tribute online. Additionally, members will hear updates from ALA leaders, with receive first-hand information on the latest developments within our organization and hear reports from the myself, President-Elect, Executive Director, Treasurer, and Endowment Trustees. Register via Zoom Please note that you must register for this session via Zoom in advance by June 17th in order to receive your voting credentials for the meeting.
