SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    On behalf of ALA's Social Responsibilities Round Table, I'd like to encourage you to review and nominate individuals for the 2024 Herb Biblo Outstanding Leadership Award for Social Justice & Equality. https://www.ala.org/news/press-releases/2023/11/social-responsibilities-round-table-seeks-nominations-2024-herb-biblo

    Nominees must be members of SRRT or other library organizations with similar goals and objectives. Further information about these criteria and the award is available here.

    Nominations need to be submitted by January 15, 2024 to be considered. The online submission form is available here. All applicants will be notified by March 1, 2024.
