The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

Not sure how I missed this upcoming webinar, but it looks promising:

Wednesday, March 1st from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Eastern

Join us for a lunchtime chat with Diana Moronta and Alyssa Brissett, editors of the newly published Practicing Social Justice in Libraries. Diana and Alyssa will join us to chat about putting all we've learned about social justice in the past years into practice. They'll share strategies, resources, and tools for how library workers can keep moving toward social change in their daily work.
