The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

The Elder Justice Task Force  (EJTF) is a part of the Social Responsibilities Round Table of the American Library Association. Our mission is to partner with adults 65 and older, libraries, and communities to identify, understand, and address the needs of this growing and diverse population.
Friends of the Elder Justice Task Force invite submissions for up to 3 $100 mini grants to Master of Library and Information Science (MSLIS) students or early career library professionals (those who have worked in libraries for less than 3 years or earned their MSLIS within 3 years). The details and the submission link can be found here.
The timeline for the mini-grant process is:
April 1: Application opens (No joke!)
    May 15: Application closes
June 15: Create Community Committee completes review & selects 3 winners
June 30: Awards are made public & funds are sent
The monies funding these grants were generously provided by the Friends of the Elder Justice Task Force and do not use ALA funds
