SRRT (Social Responsibilities Round Table)

last person joined: yesterday

The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

Hey, all. What is happening with the privacy settings of this group in Connect? We started talking about it, but then we stopped, and the settings seem to have been unchanged. Did we make a decision that resulted in that or did it just get dropped?

    Thanks,

    Rory

Thanks for raising this question again, Rory. We did discuss it in November but did not a robust discussion on it. SRRT's Connect is indeed visible to the public; Action Council's Connect is not. If you'd like to raise this point for discussion again, please propose it when we circulate the draft agenda for our March meeting. Thanks!

    Thanks.

Can I just ask for it to be included on the agenda now, so that it will be in the draft agenda?

Also, can I ask for a member of Action Council, if they would agree to it, to make a motion at the meeting that we close the permissions on the SRRT Connect group so that only ALA members who are logged into Connect can view the messages?

    Thanks,

    Rory
