The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

Hello! We need your help to compile ALA's annual State of America's Libraries Report. Please use this form to submit your contributions. <u1:p></u1:p>

    Deadline: Monday, Feb. 12<u1:p></u1:p>

    <u1:p> </u1:p>

The overarching theme of this year's report will be Libraries Take Action, which aims to highlight the ways libraries and library workers have responded to community needs with innovative and critical services as well as the challenges brought on by an increasingly tumultuous censorship landscape. As in past years, we are asking member communities across the Association to contribute to the report.<u1:p></u1:p>

The report will be released on April 8-the start of National Library Week. It will outline issues affecting libraries of all types during the previous calendar year.  See last year's report here.

Here's what we need from you:<u1:p></u1:p>

    ·        Links to content: Examples include reports from your unit or outside entities, news articles, academic studies, environmental scans, articles/posts from your unit's publications, etc.<u1:p></u1:p>

    ·        Context: Summarize the content in the links (1-2 paragraphs, more if needed or for particularly long works).<u1:p></u1:p>

    ·        Anything else: Any additional considerations we should know.<u1:p></u1:p>

The report's primary audience includes advocates who support our nation's libraries, members of the media, and library professionals looking for trends and effective practices they can apply to their own work. To that end, the focus of the report is on the work of libraries and library workers. <u1:p></u1:p>

Please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to reading your submissions!
