The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    The ALA Nominating Committee invites you to an online open house for members interested in becoming the 2025-2026 ALA President or 2024-2027 Councilor at Large. The webinar will cover the role and responsibilities of an elected leader, an overview of the nomination process, and an interactive Q&A segment.

    The webinar is scheduled on Thursday, August 3rd 9:30am PT / 10:30am MT / 11:30am CT / 12:30pm ET.

     If you are interested in being considered for the position of ALA President-elect or Councilor at Large, please complete the candidate Biographical Form found here.

    Eligible ALA members will vote in the 2024 ALA elections taking place March 11-April 3, 2024. Newly elected leaders officially begin their term after the 2024 ALA Annual Conference in San Diego, June 27-July 2, 2024.
