The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Hello, everyone:

We'll be hosting another ALA Member Town Hall on November 17th with myself and other Association leaders. Please register here.

In this session, we'll be focusing on ALA Membership – why it matters for all of us and how you can help make the case for membership to your colleagues and administrators. All questions are welcome, though, and we will get to as many as we can during the session.

You will hear from our new ALA Executive Director Dan Montgomery, and Deputy Director Melissa Walling, as well as our ALA Membership Committee Chair, Cathy Zimmerman, followed by time for your questions and discussion.
