The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Hello!

    fyi

    thanks, gary

    Hello,

The American Library Association last published the Intellectual Freedom Manual in 2021, and it is now time for a new edition. Erin Berman and I, the co-editors, are looking for input on what is needed in this next edition from library staff, students, trustees, educators, and anyone who has in stake in supporting intellectual freedom. It doesn't matter whether you have never heard of the Intellectual Freedom Manual or you refer to it often-we want to hear from you. Please take a few minutes to answer this brief survey and feel free to share it with others: https://aclibrary.libwizard.com/f/IFmanual.

    Thank you for your consideration,

    John
