The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Hi all,
I just wanted to send a very quick reminder about our upcoming SRRT Action Council meetings, as well as a call for agenda items! Please send me agenda items no later than end of day Friday, Aug. 30.
For September, because of the Labor Day holiday, we'll be meeting Wed. 9/4 at 12 PM Eastern / 11 AM Central / 10 AM Mountain / 9 AM Pacific.
Aside from that, based on the Action Council member availability poll from earlier in the summer, I'm writing to confirm that meetings will take place on the first Monday of the month, at 1 PM Eastern / 12 PM Central / 11 AM Mountain / 10 AM Pacific. October 7th would mark the beginning of this regular scheduling.
I know there was a lot of discussion about this at the last AC meeting, and I apologize for all the back & forth.
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to seeing you at the next AC meeting! (Remember to send me your agenda items! :-)
    Olivia
