The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

2023 TLA Call for Presentations

  • 1.  2023 TLA Call for Presentations

Greetings fellow SRRT and ACRL WGSS members!

Please excuse the cross-posting. I am a member of the Texas Library Association's Conference Planning Committee, and we currently have a Call for Presentations open for our 2023 Annual Conference being held in Austin, Texas on April 19-22. The annual conference draws over 5,000 librarians, teachers, and library support staff eager to enhance their knowledge, apply new information, and explore services that will enhance their individual growth and benefit the communities they serve.

I think the passion and expertise of members in SRRT and ACRL-WGSS would be incredibly valuable to our attendees. If you have facilitated successful programs, new library services, or you have collaborated with faculty, students, community members, and/or other librarians on noteworthy projects, I encourage you to submit a proposal through our Call for Presentations. All proposals are due by June 20. I encourage you to submit a proposal, and please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need someone to bounce ideas off of.

Thanks so much for your consideration.

    Best,
    Regina Vitolo, MLS
