The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Hi April--
The Amelia Bloomer meetings were always open to visitors.  Could you speak to why RISE is changing this?  As a group selecting an annual book list, I cannot see why deliberations need secrecy.  Is it a technology issue? What's up?
    Thanks--
    Jane

The meetings are not closed. Because the meetings are so long, the co-chairs preferred to take the option of using their own institutional Zoom account. Here's the information:

Rise: A Feminist Book Project for Ages 0-18 will be holding open Midwinter meetings as usual, albeit virtually. We will be meeting from noon-5p EST from January 22-26. Sit in on our deliberation of this year's nominations using the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83153434805. The full list of nominations, as well as our book selection criteria, can be found on our committee blog.
