The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Hello fellow SRRT members,

It's time again to start preparing another exciting issue of the SRRT Newsletter. The deadline for our June issue is Friday, May 14. Please note, this is earlier than our usual timeline. Because Annual Conference will occur at the end of June, it is essential that we release the June issue during the first week of the month, instead of the middle of the month as we have been doing. We appreciate your cooperation in getting submissions to us in a timely manner.

Reviewers: please contact review editor, Jennifer Caldwell (Jennifer.Caldwell@pima.gov), for questions about review deadlines and submission guidelines.

    Submission Guidelines for SRRT Newsletter:
Submissions to the SRRT Newsletter may be made by any current SRRT Member or SRRT affiliate. Please send your submissions electronically in one of the following formats: MS Word, RTF, PDF, or plain text pasted into the body of an e-mail. We ask that submissions be kept to a length 500 to 1,000 words or less. Graphics are encouraged. Please submit images as separate files along with a list of file names with corresponding captions. If using images that are already on the Internet, the URL of the image and a caption or description may be added to the text of the submission. Please send submissions and inquiries to SRRT Newsletter Editor Myka Kennedy Stephens (mykaks@gmail.com), indicating"SRRT Newsletter" within the subject line of your e-mail.

Looking forward to receiving your submissions!
