The Social Responsibilities Round Table works to make ALA more democratic and to establish progressive priorities not only for the Association, but also for the entire profession. Concern for human and economic rights was an important element in the founding of SRRT and remains an urgent concern today. SRRT believes that libraries and librarians must recognize and help solve social problems and inequities in order to carry out their mandate to work for the common good and bolster democracy.

    Virtual Learning Librarian

    University of North Florida – Jacksonville, FL

     

    Position Description:

    As a member of the Instruction team, this library faculty position participates in the planning, coordination, delivery, and assessment of the library's virtual services including online instruction, research consultations, chat/email/text research assistance, and the Library's Virtual Learning Center (VLC). Promotes and maintains an understanding of the evolving role of active teaching, learning, and research through innovative instruction. Demonstrates knowledge of best practices and current trends in all areas related to research and information literacy with the purpose of continuously improving services. Documents and assesses the activities, effectiveness, and needs of library services and programs through statistical analysis, formal reports, and presentation. Provides virtual services and information literacy instruction to faculty and students in accordance with professional guidelines. Works under the general supervision of the Head of Instruction.

     

    Compensation: 48,000 to negotiable
