As the Program Coordinator, Community Engagement in the Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services (ODLOS) at the American Library Association, I provide programmatic support for recruitment and retention efforts through expertise in community engagement, including communicating across diverse groups, event management, and engaging ALA membership in leadership opportunities and professional development tools. I'm the ALA staff liaison for the Spectrum Advisory Committee, the Rainbow Round Table, the Social Responsibilities Round Table, and the Ethnic & Multicultural Information Exchange Round Table. Feel free to reach out with any questions about the Spectrum Scholarship Program, RainbowRT, SRRT, EMIERT, or ODLOS work at-large.
Previous experience includes internships with the Illinois Holocaust Museum and the Center for Neighborhood Technology. Outside of work, I am an alumna of the Obama Foundation Community Leadership Corps, have served on the National Diversity & Social Justice Committee for the Latina-founded organization Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc., and consider myself a true coffee shop enthusiast!
