Bio
I specialize in strategic planning, project management, strategic implementation, and team building in libraries, non-profits, and associations. I'm deeply passionate about libraries and the impact they have on peoples' daily lives and on our nation's future.
My strengths include libraries, technology, emerging technologies, trends, social media, gaming in libraries, ubiquitous computing, convergence culture, participatory culture, blogging, RSS, creative problem solving, community building, community outreach, formal instruction, informal instruction, documentation, teaching technology, marketing, and more. I'm an information maven, and I excel at connecting people and projects. I'm good at generating content, sharing information in an easy-to-understand way, and amplifying the work of others.
I started the first librarian blog in 1995,
Jenny's Cybrary to the Stars
, which included
The Librarian's Site du Jour
. I updated the site by handcoding HTML and later by using FrontPage. During the first few years of Google's existence, I was the number one result for the term "jenny".
I was again at the forefront of the blogging movement in 2002 and ran a popular blog called
The Shifted Librarian
using Radio Userland, then Movable Type, and finally WordPress. During this blog's heyday (2002-2008), I was a top result in Google for "librarian".
