In January 2019, Earla Jones joined the American Library Association as the Director of Conference Services. She was previously with National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), as the Senior Director, Annual Meeting from 2006-2019. With over twenty years’ experience as a planning professional, producing meetings, conventions, and events, Jones specializes in strategic experiential design and program development. In her dedication to promoting an active participation in the field of continuing education for the hospitality and tourism industry, she was Assistant Professor at Northern Virginia Community College (2004-2018) and Kendall College (2003-2004).
Ms. Jones earned a M.S. degree and an Executive Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Roosevelt University. She holds a B.S. degree in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies from Penn State and has maintained the Certified Meeting Professional designation since 2003. Jones is a member of ASAE, IAEE, NCBMP and PCMA. She is a graduate of the 2010-2012 class of the ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) and has served on several Customer Advisory Boards including Fort Worth, Seattle, Montreal, Baltimore, Detroit and Austin. She has been a member of the PCMA Education Task Force and currently serves on the ASAE Meetings & Exposition Council.
