Hi, I serve as the executive director of the Athens-Limestone Public Library since 2010. I was School Librarian and Vice Principal at St. John the Baptist Catholic School, Madison, Alabama for ten years. In 2007 I became the first Coordinator of Public Services, at the Athens-Limestone Public Library, Athens, Alabama.
Born in Yuma, AZ, but grew up primarily in southern California. I am an Army veteran (6 years). I am an Advanced Teacher Fellow with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and Lerner Teacher Fellow with the Jewish Foundation for the Righteous. I was a Star Scholar at the University of Alabama, Huntsville, studying the Holocaust in Italy.
I have has served as the President of the Alabama Library Association, the chair of the Legislative Development Committee, and the Public Relations Committee. I am a member of Beta Phi Mu. For the past several years I have been a judge for the Benjamin Franklin Awards with the Independent Book Publisher’s Association.
June 2019, elected to a two-year term on the ALA Planning and Budget Assembly.
Fervent defender of the First Amendment.
Personal Interests: Travel, wine, food, and nerd stuff. Member of the American Wine Society. Proud Trekker and Brown Coat.
Weird Hobby: Reading labor law cases.
