Player1 is 8 miles away (by far closest from the list!) but would require personal transportation. The other option is to look at a closer spot that ...

It sounded like fun! Sadly, transportation could be an issue to that one and some of the others. Player1 Video Game Bar however is much closer to the convention center area. I have reached out to them to see about our gathering there. Does Sunday night work for most folks?

Thank you so much can for your interest, and a huge thanks to MAry Ghikas for being on top of things with her answer! The GameRT will be running a pre-conference program at the 2016 Annual Conference as well as at least one concurrent session still to be determined. As Mary noted, the RT board is working ...

From The Digital Reader Bethesda Software built in a nice nod to libraries as part of the loot acquisition system in Fallout 4. Apparently collecting and returning overdue books to the library gives not only some caps, but also tokens that can be redeemed for special loot. So even as the world ...

A nice news report out of Morgantown, WV about a high school class using Freedom: The Underground Railroad in the library to learn about slavery and the abolition movement. Freedom was designed by none other than our GameRT Vice-President, Brian Mayer. A great example of libraries hosting games for learning, ...

Now I know how those Kickstarter people feel as they write another update promising something coming soon. I do have some solid news to report, though. The template from ALA Production Services is done and I will be sending the content on to our new staff liaison, Tina Coleman, next week. Hopefully the ...

In her latest video from the Tropes vs. Women in Video Games series, Anita Sarkeesian explores the concept of women as rewards in video games. In this powerful review of popular games, Sarkeesian presents compelling and chilling examples of disturbing design choices. As more of a tabletop and computer ...

Hello from GenCon, where about 60,000 dedicated fans of (mainly) tabletop gaming have gathered in Indianapolis, IN for four days of gaming bliss. My GenCon actually began a day early with Trade Day, a series of workshops for retailers as well as educators and librarians. Librarians were well represented ...

Grin. Thus the inclusion of my email signature in my last comment. I love the reply by email. I think the concern is that many members may not have subscriptions turned on for the RT within Connect. Question: if we get people to turn on subscriptions in Connect via a newsletter call to action, will those ...
