    Dear Councilors,
I wanted to say thank you for the support of the Resolution to Support School and Academic Library Chapters at today's meeting.

I wanted to publicly say thank you to the many ALA Presidents who have worked to specifically support school libraries.  From my own personal experience, I would like to thank Jim Neal, Emily Drabinski, Barbara Stripling and, of course, Lessa Pelayo-Lazado who partnered with me in April 2023 on an ALA Connect Live program titled "Our Brave Communities: Embracing School Librarians."  I apologize for listing names this way -- for I am sure in doing so that I have left out names of others that have provided support.  This is from my own personal experience.

I'm hopeful that the Task Force will look at support for specifically State School Library & Academic Library Chapters.

Thank you, Jim, for sharing these resources. I believe that the strategies identified in the 2017-2018 Executive Summary that you shared  are still strategies that we could be striving for.

    All my best,
    --Kathy Lester
