Agenda released for the world’s largest virtual cataloging meeting

Register today and connect with libraries from around the globe on Wednesday, 12 February 2025.

This free, virtual event is now just a few weeks away and there’s so much to look forward to. Library community members will join OCLC staff to discuss a variety of pertinent topics, and we’ve allocated time for questions at the end of the meeting.

Here’s a snippet of the agenda including topics and guest panelists:

    • Best practices for queer metadata | Chloe Misorski, Cleveland Museum of Art, USA and Bri Watson, University of British Columbia, Canada
    • The Mothman properties: Linked data for West Virginia entities | Emily Fidelman, West Virginia University, USA
    • Deepening connections by turbocharging data with AI | Latifa Baali, American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
    • The power of e-holdings automations | Dmitrijs Martinovs, Sage Publishing, United Kingdom

Unable to attend? Register to receive the full recording after the event.

Look for agenda details on our website.

For anyone particularly interested in the first portion of the OCLC cataloging community meeting about "Best practices for queer metadata,"  I wrote a brief description of the presentation and the document Best Practices for Queer Metadata in the blog post Advancing IDEAs: Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, 21 January 2025, Advancing IDEAs is a recurring series  on issues of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility, compiled by a team of OCLC contributors.
