Hello Councilors,

On behalf of the ALA Council's Committee on Committees, ALA President-elect Emily Drabinski is very pleased to announce the following Councilors have been slated as candidates for the upcoming 2023 ALA Executive Board Election:

1. Adriana Blancarte-Hayward - Senior Manager, Outreach Services, The New York Public Library, New York, NY
2. Stephanie Chase - Executive Director, Libraries of Eastern Oregon & Founding Principal for the Constructive Disruption Consultancy, Portland, OR
3. Maria F. Estrella -Public Services Manager III, Cleveland Public Library, Cleveland, OH
4. Dorcas Hand -School Librarian Retired, now Full-time Advocate, Houston, TX
5. Sophia Sotilleo - Dean, University Library, Thurgood Marshall Library, Bowie State University, Bowie, MD   
6. Steven Yates - Associate Professor and Assistant Director, University of Alabama School of Library & Information Studies, Tuscaloosa, AL

The first THREE (3) candidates receiving the highest number of votes will be elected to 3-year terms (2023-2026).

The Hybrid ALA Executive Board Candidates Forum will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023: 4:00-5:00 p.m. CT at LibLearnX in New Orleans. The forum gives Council members an opportunity to hear the views of the candidates and to ask questions of them prior to voting. Councilors will cast their vote electronically after the conclusion of the Executive Board Candidates Forum and election results will be reported virtually shortly after LibLearnX.  Detailed bios of the candidates will be posted to the Council documents page, as well as directions and links for electronic voting forwarded, prior to the LibLearnX Council meetings.
