  • 1.  Give $22 to help the AASL Distinguished Service Award & Scholarship Fund

    Posted Feb 22, 2022 11:06 AM
Today, AASL is kicking off our #aasltwosday initiative to raise funds for the AASL Distinguished  Service Award &  Scholarship Fund. When I was in college, I received an ALA scholarship that paid for my way through the University of Iowa graduate program to become a librarian. I have spent much of my professional life giving back. I wanted to share the email contents that went out to AASL members today and to encourage 22 of my friends to join me in donating. You can give a donation of $22 (Or more) or you can set up a recurring donation very easily. Please join me in this funding today.
    Sincerely,
Diane R. Chen, AASL Division Councilor

    Happy TWOSDAY!

    Give Today

It's 2-22-22 an E-X-T-R-A special day and we have 2 ways for everyone to give recognition to this special day and to the good work of school librarians.

AASL invites everyone to be a part of this unique day by donating $22 to the AASL Distinguished Service Fund. The AASL Distinguished Service Award & Scholarship Fund is an opportunity to ensure every school librarian is a leader and every learner has a school librarian. Your donation will annually support both:

    • Recognition of the Distinguished Service Award winner
    • A leadership scholarship for mid-career school librarian

Want to learn more? Please check out the KQ Blog post and visit the Distinguished Service Fund link for more information

    Give Today

(And you aren't limited to giving $22 just today! Consider setting up recurring support through a $22 monthly donation.)

Make your financial donation in honor of the uniqueness of today's date and school librarians. Your gift enables AASL to recognize the past to build the future of school librarianship. We appreciate your thoughtful consideration!

Thank you, Diane, for sharing the #aasltwosday initiative and a special thank you to all Councilors who have contributed or will contribute still!
I love the library profession and by giving and being involved; I find that I am often gaining far more than I am receiving.
    "I Gave on #aasltwosday"
    All my best,
    Kathy Lester
